Mission | To produce marketable socially conscious media for a variety of demographics.

History | Beyond Blue Productions was founded in 2004 by Sultan Sharrief. Initially specializing in corporate and non-profit promotional videos. It expanded quickly with the short film Fulfill a Hankering in 04, Mural a feature documentary in 05, and The Spiral Project in 2006.

Since then we have grown to an office in Detroit and one in Los Angeles and produce a variety of media from feature films, mini-documentaries, and commercials. Our innovative, community based approach to professional production allows us to provide quality content while engaging and empowering strong bases of community followers to become active marketing agents.

We strive to be a part of the revival of Detroit and hope to renovate property within the city over the next 2 years and develop into shared studio space for the burgeoning number of young, independent artists.  Our long term goal is to become a major production company based in Michigan producing films that are seen across the world and inspire and encourage viewers towards building a brighter future for our youth.

Methodology | We care not only about the final product, but the process.  We established a high school student program in conjunction with the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor called the Student EFEX Project (Encouraging the Filmmaking EXperience) and continue to run the program year-round.  We also work with a number of University students to provide them with real-world experience and benefiting from their youth and connection to today’s trends.
